Introduction
Wanaka Rock Climbing is a trading name of BCWanaka Ltd and will be hereafter referred to as Wanaka Rock. Is regestered on the Adventure Activity Register https://services.worksafe.govt.nz/adventure-activities-public-register/ and holds relevant DOC concessions to operate on public land.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Prior to your activity each participant must complete the registration and medical disclosure form and must understand and sign Risk Acknowledgement and Waiver.

For all activities you must disclose any pre-existing injuries or medical conditions you, or those you are responsible for, may have e.g. epilepsy, back injuries etc.
During the activity you must follow all instructions from our staff and you MUST ask if you don’t understand.
In the event that you loose or dammage Wanaka Rock equipment, facility or vehicle you will be charged for repair or replacement.
Risk acknowledgement
All activities offered by or through Wanaka Rock Climbing (BCWanaka Ltd) inherently involve risks; such as; falling from height, Avalanche (winter alpine activities), items/rocks falling and associated hazards; such as, cliff edges, slippery/uneven ground, extreme weather including temperature and other users of the area. This may result in serious injury or death. The staff and management of Wanaka Rock take all steps reasonably practicable to identify and mitigate these.
Participants must understand that these steps may involve them and that they must, follow Wanaka Rock instructions and recommendations at all times, including the use of any equipment; supplied by Wanaka Rock and their own. they must also understand that the final decision about whether to partake in these activities is theirs; however, Wanaka Rock staff have the right to withdraw any person from any activity who in their opinion is likely to endanger themselves or others. Wanaka Rock reserves the right to cancel, postpone, stop or decline to start any activity for any reason.

PAYMENT
Bookings made online are considered firm. For email bookings our staff will contact you to confirm availability. Credit card details are required to confirm your phone or email booking. By giving us your Visa or MasterCard details, you agree for us to take full payment from your credit card. Bookings will be confirmed on receipt of deposit or full payment per person and, when requested, a completed booking form. The balance of fees is due 14 days prior to the start of your trip. In the event of a booking made within 14 days, the full amount is payable when booking.
BOOKINGS FOR PRIVATE GUIDING/Private trips
Bookings for private programs must be made for specific dates. The period of time booked is the period that must be paid for, regardless of weather and/or other circumstances that may alter the itinerary. For example, if your booking is for 4th to 10th January inclusive, the guide fee applicable is 7 days.
INVOLUNTARY EXTENSION OF YOUR TRIP
If a trip is involuntarily lengthened by bad weather (the guided party being unable to safely leave the mountain venue), a standby rate of 75% of normal guiding rates may be charged.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations can be requested by calling +64 22 015 4458 or emailing wanakarock@gmail.com Date and time change requests by you are subject to availability and are at our discretion. There is no change fee however deals and discounts may not be valid for your new booking.
Multi pitch, PRIVATE GUIDING/trips, INSTRUCTIONAL COURSES AND ALPINE TRIPS
No refunds are granted for medical or fitness reasons or if trips are voluntarily reduced in length except in exceptional circumstances. If weather and/or conditions require the trip itinerary to be modified no refund is due. Some trip costs may be returned if they have not been incurred.
For cancellations received prior to the commencement of your trip, the following conditions apply:
Cancellation received 30 days or less prior to commencement, no refund will be made.
Cancellations within 31 – 60 days prior to commencement, a full refund of fees paid, less a cancellation fee of $50 plus 2% of full price.
Cancellations 61 or more days prior to commencement, a refund of fees paid, less a cancellation fee (2% of full price) .
HALF AND FULL DAY rock Climbing Fun
For cancellations received prior to the commencement of your trip, the following conditions apply:
Cancellation received 48 hours or less prior to commencement, no refund will be made
Cancellation received more than 48 hours prior commencement, a full refund of fees paid, less a cancellation fee of NZ$50 per person.
In the event of adverse weather trips may run as scheduled, or an alternative activity may be provided. If the weather precludes all activity, you will be offered an alternative day or you will be refunded (less the 2-5% booking fee).
If your half or full day activity is cancelled by us due to minimum numbers not being met or any other reason within our control, you will be offered an alternative day or you will be fully refunded.
COVID 19
For cancellations required due to government imposed Covid 19 restrictions, you will be offered credit for an alternative day(s). In situations where credit is not appropriate a full refund (less a 2% booking fee) will be offered.
PRICING
All prices are in New Zealand Dollars and inclusive of 15% GST (Goods and Service Tax). We do not accept payment in any other currency. Your card issuer may apply charges for converting currency. These charges are applied by your card issuer, we accept no responsibility for these. We reserve the right to change our prices without notice.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend travel insurance, to cover against cancellation and potential loss of payment/deposits. We accept no responsibility for illness or personal accidents, or evacuation costs if necessary. The New Zealand Accident Compensation Commission will cover rescue costs in the case of some accidents, but not evacuation due to medical or pre-existing conditions.
