On this course we focus on cementing a solid knowledge of multi-pitch systems, primarily focused on bolted multi-pitch routes. You will be climbing the routes you have been dreaming about in no time after a long weekend with our guides.

Day to day improvement

Day 1

Recap on your personal knowledge and skill set,Recap leading on bolts to understand participants comfort levels. The afternoon will be spent introducing how to build two point anchors and how to belay from the Top of a pitch using different methods.

Day 2

Reinforce previous day’s learning points,Introduce the multi-pitch system and multi-pitch efficiency, this will be practiced a lot to help you gain confidence.

We will focus mostly on the techniques used for a two person climbing team but if guests competency allows we can also teach guests about how to climb safely and efficiently in a team of three

We finish with a detailed look at the weaker points in your climbing technique.

Day 3

Start by putting all the skills learnt into practice by climbing of one of the area’s classic multi-pitch routes.

The afternoon will be spent learning essential but simple rescue techniques so you are a reliable climbing partner to your partner/friends.

• Dealing with abseil issues and stuck ropes

• How to tie and when to use Catastrophe knots

• Lowering the climber from the top of a pitch

• How to effectively use a “Third Hand”

• Releasing an Assisted braking belay device in a verity of ways
